You may be familiar with dandelion as a stubborn garden weed, however in traditional herbal medicine dandelion is revered for its wide array of medicinal properties.
Dandelion leaves are an excellent source of vitamins A, C and K. They also contain vitamin E, folate and small amounts of B vitamins.
Dandelion leaves also provide a substantial amount of several minerals including iron, calcium, magnesium and potassium. As well as being full of antioxidants, they are anti-inflamatory, heart health, promote a healthy liver, and are good for digestive issues.
Dandelion leaves and flowers are also very good for the skin, reducing inflammation and protecting against free radicals.
☕ Suggested Use:
Add 1–2 tsp of dried dandelion leaf to 1 cup of boiling water. Cover and steep for 10–15 minutes. Strain and drink up to 2 times daily.
Enjoy alone or blend with nettle, peppermint, or lemon balm for a refreshing detox tea.
